Hogtown Extreme Sports

  • 401 King St. W. (at Spadina)
  • 416-598-4192
Two types of people patronize this King Street store: those who get a buzz out of boarding, and those who get a buzz out of the corresponding attire. Skate and snowboard fashion dictates loose-fitting clothes and chunky footwear: Hogtown obliges with a riot of patterned hoodies, puffy jackets and standard-issue sneakers (Etnies, DC, Vans, Orchid). Actual practitioners of the sports will find the selection of gear “sick.” Hogtown carries the hottest skateboard brands; prices range from $40 for a basic blank to up to $230 for a flashy longboard. As Canada’s oldest snowboard store, Hogtown stocks everything from Burton to Ride to Winterstick. Snowboard bags can be found in the store’s cavernous back room, which also houses a fine assortment of BMX and low-rider bikes.
