The ultimate in democratic shopping, the VV is probably the only clothing store where stylists, Portuguese grandmothers and OCAD students rub shoulders on a regular basis. And the cavernous Bloor and Lansdowne branch is sure to have a little gently used something for everyone. Divided into sections for men, women and children, the shop is well organized: clothes are arranged according to garment type and colour. Accessories line the walls; coloured tags identify newly arrived goods. On one visit, bargain finds included a knit turtleneck ($4.99), brown cowboy boots ($17.99) and a groovy ’70s evening dress ($14.99). For more deals and steals, ask about their next 50 per cent off day.
