For curated vintage at Kensington prices, head west to Crispian Underwood’s tiny Roncesvalles shop. Loved by bargain hunters, hipsters and stylists alike, the racks here are bursting with treasures: frilly silk blouses, prim secretary-style frocks, and raincoats, some bearing designer labels, all at to-die-for prices. Underwood makes a point of staying on top of current fashion trends and only carries pieces that would work in a modern-day wardrobe: a pink wool bouclé sheath dress ($52), a sailor-style Byblos jacket ($30), a sequined V-neck top ($24). Finish off your look with shoes ($14–$35) and a piece of vintage costume jewellery ($9–$30). Hats go for $18 to $30. Cash only.
