Former OCAD student Alyssa Rushton is offering her personal take on reworked vintage at this miniature Kensington stop. The Zoo line includes bright shirts, skirts and dresses with Rushton’s own cast of characters (Odis the Octopus, Mrs. Good Luck Crow), while demure ladies adorn handmade cameo pins and pendants. New clutches, shoes and purses feature splotches of vivid spray paint, and ornate old frames have been repainted in bold hues. Rushton also brings in international works, such as Paper necklaces by Danish designer Billow. Plus, she’s committed to keeping the prices friendly. “I don’t like things that cost over $100,” she says.
