Shan The brainchild of award-winning Montreal designer Chantal Levesque, this upscale boutique offers couture swimwear for the beach bound. Full suits and two-pieces (all designed by Levesque and almost all over the $200 mark) share a sophisticated sensibility—think anti–Bikini Village. Variety comes through in the many different styles, from modest boy-cut bottoms to sexy plunging V-necks. All are intended to flatter the female form, although only a certain type of female will feel comfortable in a frilly, mango-hued string bikini ($230). Fear not: floral-print linen cover-ups ($150–$285) are an excellent choice for the more modest beach bunny.
