Though getting here is decidedly un-spa-like—the parking lot is accessible from Bayview Avenue, necessitating a bewildering series of U-turns to gain entrance—good karma is quickly restored as one awaits pampering in the lounge, with its gauzy white drapery, intimate tables à deux and the most flattering lighting outside a Holt Renfrew change room. Pass through a set of glass doors into the “whisper zone,” and take a moment to adjust to the seriously Zen candlelight–and–rose petal treatment rooms. The menu includes facials ($75–$175) for acne and rosacea, and a red wine treatment for aging skin—and if there’s a Vichy shower on offer, take it. In this case, the “massage under the rain” is a heavenly 30-minute water-pressure massage ($60) performed in near darkness. Add a Turkish body exfoliation with a honey body glaze ($125) and you’ll be so relaxed you’ll need a cab to get you home.
