Now in its eighth year, Shagg has gained a reputation for friendly, attitude-free service—even though two of its three owners, Christopher Martin and Justin German, are heavyweights in the hair industry. The rest of the team consists of cutters, colourists and an aesthetician, though they all prefer to call themselves “artists.” Rather than following the latest trends, they tailor styles to the individual. Senior stylists’ cuts and colour start at $80 each (junior stylist, $50 each), with highlights from $130 (junior, $100). Beauty treatments include facials, hair removal, lash extensions and makeup.
