Cut Copy may be blaring at 10 a.m., the two spaces may be outfitted with white vinyl couches and electric pink walls, and the staff may look as though they just rolled out of bed, but despite the art school vibe, you can get a bloody good haircut here. Coupe is practically a grandpa on the Queen West strip, having put down its Toronto roots in 1993. Though famous for the bold colours and asymmetrical looks it churned out in the ’90s, Coupe offers a range of cuts suited to the individual at mid-range prices (colour from $65; cuts from $59; student cuts from $54).
