The flagship Rosedale location of this up-market spa and salon chain works overtime to impress. A carved and burnished wood exterior, an ornate hand-painted floor, massive mirrors that adorn each stylist’s station—every detail speaks to the idea that, for Civello, luxury and serenity is an Italian villa. In the basement grotto, colourists perform their secret alchemy; the second floor finds some 28 stylists snipping away. Rates vary: cuts with a regular stylist start around $50, advanced stylists start at $65, and master stylists start at $80. Colour starts at $60; highlights from $90.
