Seven years ago, Maihyet Burton and her co-designer, Jill Stewart, found themselves pregnant and facing a style crisis. Hip, Queen West kind of gals, they were horrified by department-store maternity wear. So they began designing for themselves, and Yummy Mummy—a line of funky separates—was born. Best-sellers include blazers in stretch linen and denim, stretch cord pants in black and khaki, clingy skirts and tanks, and jersey camis with lace trim detailing. As the temperature soars, summer options include jersey wrap dresses (up to $140) in a rainbow of colours and patterns, and jersey tunic tops ($110).
