Behind the grand black storefront you’ll find a cross between Mr. Dressup’s Tickle Trunk and Robert Munsch’s Paper Bag Princess. Owner Dia Kingly designs colourful clothes for girls (newborn to four years) and boys (up to 18 months), ranging from sweet to edgy. Look for blue, green or brown and hot pink onesies ($24) in camouflage patterns, with matching bibs ($9) and skull caps ($12). Pair black and white striped pants with Kingly-designed Ts ($24.50). In between the frocks are accessories and toys, such as pink velour Jellycat purses with appliquéd fairies ($25), and WeeStep slippers with skull and crossbones decorations ($31). The store also carries gifts and a variety of accessories for adult fashionistas, such as women’s wrap dresses in combed cotton-knit ($45); Concubine offers everything from handbags to large totes to wallets ($24–$37).
