This edgy shop is an ode to avant-garde Canadiana couture. Although the clothes aren’t for everyone, progressive shoppers enthusiastically embrace the offerings from Vancouver’s Obakki, as well as fashion-forward pieces by Toronto designer Zoran Dobric. Standouts this year include Lucian Matise’s hand-painted silk dresses in acidy yellows, greens and blues, and Marie Saint Pierre’s eveningwear, featuring exquisite Japanese Shibori pleating. For evening glam, Jason Meyers’s strapless cocktail dress in au courant magenta ($1,000) is irresistible.
