Funny how some boutiques can instantly evoke la dolce vita. Milli, for instance, intersects Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue with Milan’s Via Monte Napoleone. After four decades as Hamilton’s pre-eminent retailer, this 2,200-square-foot space is owner Milli Gould’s mark on the Toronto shopping scene. Complete with a twig-like LED installation and custom-etched mirrors, it provides a posh backdrop for the timeless elegance of Lanvin cocktail dresses ($4,500) and Valentino blouses ($1,500), and the playful sensibility conveyed through Moschino’s trendy suits ($1,300) and Sonia Rykiel knits. Lida Baday (from $250) and Christian Lacroix (both from $1,000) round out the upscale offerings.
