The tailoring and dressmaking duo of Chris Tyrell and Jim Searle does brisk made-to- measure business (suits for day, glam for night), counting Molly Johnson, Chantal Kreviazuk, Diana Krall and Dennis Rodman among their clients. As for the clothes, 100 shades of high-twist wool are available for custom all-season suiting. Stylish mothers of the bride favour bespoke separates (from $600), while gala-goers and bridal parties opt for the signature Hoax cincher: a custom silk bustier, recently updated with more underwire for extra boost (from $495). Gowns come with glamorous cowls or V-backs, in tea length or grazing the floor; matching wraps are $95 to $195. “We will make whatever you want,” says Searle. “And we’ll make it fabulous.”
