Susan Harris Design Designer Susan Harris grew up in a rural landscape (on Lake Erie’s Cedar Island) and it shows in her clothing: a silkscreened pheasant on a bamboo linen dress; an oak tree, goat or rooster adorning a T-shirt ($58–$68). After two seasons of selling her wares through Holt Renfrew, Harris opened her Tecumseth Street studio to the public four years ago. Her clothing has a personal, experimental feel, much of it made from recycled materials, and hemp or bamboo fabrics. It’s eco-friendly, with raw seams and scraps of handwritten non sequiturs adorning Ts ($58–$68), sweaters ($135) and jackets ($280). Must-haves include recycled wool sweaters ($135), scarves and hot water bottle covers.
