Today the store is leaning increasingly toward eco-chic: vegetable-tanned leather bags ($150–$548) hang from hat stands of reclaimed branches, and tree stumps serve as display tables. To this end, many garments—from sports socks ($13) to baby clothing—are made with organic cotton; bamboo-fibre linens (starting at $34) are soft and eco-friendly. Stylish denim is on offer, as is yoga apparel created by Denyse Green (wife of Roots co-founder Don Green).
