Eco-minded fashion hounds had reason to fret last year when Preloved’s flagship post went down with several other hipster institutions in the Queen West fire. But less than six months and one destroyed spring-summer collection later, the brand that started a national fashion craze by turning a football jersey into a tube top was back in business. The new spot, just three blocks west, is brighter and roomier than its predecessor; the more recent one-of-a-kind creations—a stylish, office appropriate, skirt made from a man’s trench coat, a dress made from men’s vintage trousers and curtains—reflect Preloved’s maturation over the years.
