Last August, George and Lisa Corbo (formerly of the Bloor Street namesake) set up shop in a three-level Victorian building off the Yorkville strip. Sleek design details are a signature, whether in a pair of Etro shoes or a Zagliani handbag in metallic gold python skin ($3,000–$3,500). Featured labels may be unknown to all but the couture cognoscenti. Doo Ri (from $995) and Derek Lam (trousers, $1,500) are New York’s latest talents, while Poleci (from $195), Neil Barrett, Y’s by Yohji Yamamoto, Costume National (from $250) and Antonio Marras leather jackets ($295–$3,995) represent the vanguard of international design.
