This bastion of old-school footwear (founded in 1834) makes up for its lack of flash with a dependable line of high-quality, sensible shoes, and competent (if occasionally crusty) service. Dack’s Custom Grade shoes are bench-made in England, and feature Goodyear Welt Construction. Various styles are available, from the Dufferin (a winged brogue, $395) to the Morgan leather loafer ($395). For the first time, a new uptown store sells ladies’ shoes as well.
