The Bloor Street outpost of this 170-year-old Parisian luxury brand is famous for posh scarves and the legendary Birkin bag. While you may have to cool your heels for a dream Birkin—it’s got a formidable wait-list—you can make yourself content with what’s on the shelves. Pieces from the aviator-meets-horsey-set clothing and shoe line by womenswear designer Jean Paul Gaultier are on offer, as well as patterned tabletop and gilt-edged china. Rounding out the offerings are lambskin men’s neckties ($650–$995); hefty, masculine steel Arceau Chrono watches for him (from $4,310); and seriously equestrian H-logoed leather-strapped watches for her (from $1,760). Meanwhile, the Kelly muff, best used for wrapping and warming delicate aristocratic hands in winter, remains a favourite.
