Following a $7.2-million reno, the formerly dingy TBG has a new lease on life. The two main event halls are still simple, neutral spaces, but they are now more closely tied to nature. The 3,400-square-foot Floral Hall overlooks a courtyard filled with crabapple trees and bordered by a water curtain. The smaller Garden Hall (designed by Raymond Moriyama in the 1950s) opens onto a garden brimming with rhododendrons and Japanese maples. The soaring glass-walled atrium (available if rented with another room) leads to the TBG’s innovative gardens and every bride’s favourite photo op, Edwards Gardens. More than 30 wedding parties swamp the gardens for photos every summer weekend, so things can get hectic; you’ll want to get your photo permit well in advance. That said, there are few better backdrops than the weeping willows and bucolic bridges found in Edwards Gardens. Three smaller studios accommodate business retreats and other similarly sized gatherings. Free parking.

How much:
Garden Hall $850–$1,000; Floral Hall $2,000–$2,500; atrium rates vary.
Catering:
choose from seven preferred caterers; no corkage fee.
