A popular venue for anyone with an interest in art or history, this 118-year-old building is just blocks from two other high-profile historic restorations (the Drake and the Gladstone). For special events, the 2,600-square-foot hall on the second floor—which can accommodate up to 200 for dinner or 350 for cocktails—plays frequent host to weddings, proms, fundraisers, concerts and fashion shows. With its 40-foot ceiling, 15-foot windows, stage and theatrical balcony, the room is perfect for dramatic moments. Its other big advantage is the zero-fee corkage policy.
