In the heart of Liberty Village, the Academy boasts 20-foot ceilings and rustic post-and-beam construction. Housed in a former billiards factory and decorated with working antique pool tables (some of which are more than 100 years old), the 22,000-square-foot facility is divided into four rooms. Named for a legendary billiard table maker, the Samuel May room—the biggest in the venue—boasts a massive bar and huge industrial windows. The smaller John Brunswick room (also a gallery for local artists) has a British men’s club vibe, while the George Chenier room has an airy feel with lots of natural light—perfect for intimate events. On the lower level, La Belle Epoque Room features an extensive champagne bar and art nouveau decor. The various parts of the complex all share a dedication to fine booze, including 120 international beers and 120 single malt scotches.
