Built in 1866 for financier James Austen and improved throughout the Edwardian era, this city-owned museum is a treasure trove of Victorian, Arts and Crafts and even deco styles. Outside, the Spadina Museum is a great white wedding cake of a house, with boisterous bays, chimneys and dormers. Inside, the museum proper is off-limits for parties (due to the many precious artifacts), but you can rent the unrestored rooms on the third floor (added in 1912 and good for corporate meetings); the east sunroom, which opens onto the south terrace and the lawn; and the spacious, six-acre south lawn, which borders an elaborate garden, apple orchard and grape arbor, and runs right up to the edge of the Davenport escarpment. Some people rent the place just for the photo ops ($125 per hour).
How much:
east sunroom $70 per hour, third floor $100 per hour, South Lawn $150 per hour; three-hour minimum, prices include staff
Catering:
