The ROM is booking up fast these days, as folks flock to see the new Crystal: both the highs—the C5 restaurant at the peak of the slant-walled structure—and its more grounded lower level, the Hyacinth Gloria Chen Crystal Court, which leads into the broad, flowing space of the Samuel Hall Currelly Gallery. Together, the main-floor rooms can hold 2,500 people. For more intimate occasions, book the octagonal Glass Room, which sits atop the old rotunda and seats 50 people, is a good choice. It has a black-and-green glass floor and deco flourishes. With the exception of the Glass Room, most bookings are available during evenings only (and in the case of C5, Sunday to Wednesday exclusively).
How much:
Glass Room $1,000; Eaton Court $2,000; Samuel Hall Currelly Gallery $5,000; first floor $8,000; C5 $1,000 plus food and beverage minimum (all rates valid until Dec. 31, 2007)
Catering:
in-house, or choose from eight preferred caterers; dinner $40–$80 per person
