If clubbing is the new religion, hip nightspot Revival has an appropriate setting: a 97-year-old Baptist church. Dido and Mick Jagger have both held events here, no doubt lured by the great atmosphere: the cavernous space still has its 18-foot ceilings, arched windows and an altar (which now holds a stage). The main room, popular for both weddings and film wrap parties (Lives of the Saints, Dawn of the Dead), is centred around a massive concrete bar laced with colour-changing fibre optic wire, and holds 474 people (120 seated). Upstairs, where choirs once sang, a modern mezzanine with a private bar now hosts events for up to 60 people. Downstairs, surrounded by the church’s original stone foundation walls, the 200-person Stone Lounge hosts indie bands and stagettes.
