Built as the flagship movie house for Famous Players in the 1930s, this theatre still oozes old-time Hollywood glamour. The eye-catching exterior, complete with the original marquee sign, is a far cry from your average banquet hall. The interior is an art deco masterpiece; many of the original design elements, such as the coffered ceiling in the main lobby, have been faithfully preserved. The mezzanine, built for balcony seating and available with the rental of the main space, has been recast as a swank bar for 250. One level down, the ballroom (which can host dinners for 400, cocktails for 750) evokes the romance of the movies with its large screen. The Gallery can also be rented separately for ceremonies.
How much:
inclusive food and open bar package from $95 per person (includes space); rates vary for other events
Catering:
in-house; kosher cuisine available upon request
