Style gurus love the Design Exchange, one of the few genuine deco monuments in Toronto. From the stone frieze on the outside to the steel–and–lacquered birch banister on the marble staircase, the place is brimming with architectural detail. Built in 1937 for the Toronto Stock Exchange, the site now hosts a design museum and any number of weddings, parties, fundraisers and events. Graced with 40-foot ceilings, the glamorous space features marble wainscotting, vintage fluorescent lights and eight murals by Canadian master Charles Comfort. Also available for rent: the industrial-style exhibit hall (up to 300 for cocktails); the Patty Watt Room (seats up to 60) with windows overlooking Bymark restaurant; and a boardroom that seats up to 25.
