Designers and friends Bonnie Greenberg and Elayne Freeman have been creating posh custom invitations for more than 20 years. Clients who want to make their own marks (not just a pun: personalized monograms and seals are customizable options) get the best of both designing women: Greenberg and Freeman collaborate on all orders. The studio takes the atelier approach, offering letter-press and engraving, and crafting high-end invitations from handmade papers sourced from Italy, Spain and Japan (to name a few exotic locales), as well as an exclusive catalogue of American lines. Inspiration comes through personal consultation—a box of coloured candies brought in by one client served as the starting point for bar mitzvah invites—and Freeman takes special pride in creating envelopes in custom sizes and unusual materials that stand out from the crowd.
