Known for crisp produce, seasonal ingredients and specialty foods, this acclaimed shop has been catering for about two years. In addition to having a country-fresh reputation, the catered food features dishes with unique flavours. Owner Michelle Shabatura—a real farmer’s daughter—fills platters with such fragrant delights as home-cooked Guinness-and-steak pie and cabbage rolls. Olives and red pepper tapenade might be served alongside Michelle’s Awesome Salad (a healthful, snappy blend of diced peppers, red onions, edamame and avocado). Some of the produce comes from her family farm; the rest is picked up at farmers’ markets. Homemade foods (from exotic preserves to zesty dips like a “hot bomb” pepper jelly) are also served. Homemade pies come in a variety of flavours, including a delicious apple-toffee-strawberry.
