Known for fresh produce, seasonal ingredients and specialty foods, this acclaimed shop has also been catering for about three years. The catered food enjoys a country-fresh reputation and features dishes with unique flavours. Owner Michelle Shabatura—a real farmer’s daughter—fills platters with such fragrant delights as home-cooked Guinness-and-steak pie. Red pepper tapenade might be served alongside Michelle’s Awesome Salad (a healthful, snappy blend of diced peppers, red onions, edamame and avocado). Some of the produce comes from her family’s farm; the rest is picked up at farmers’ markets. Homemade foods (from exotic preserves to zesty dips, like a “hot bomb” pepper jelly) are also served. Seasonal pies come in a variety of flavours, including a heavenly wild blueberry.
