Food TV maven Trish Magwood is the brainchild and founder of seven-year-old Dish. Magwood strives to provide her clients with experiences, not just food and drink. And this mandate shines through in her company’s myriad endeavors: catering service, cooking studio (offering corporate and private cooking classes), kitchen supply store, café, soon-to-be-launched cookbook, titled Dish Entertains (Harper Collins), and the upcoming 2,500-square-foot on-site studio space. While Magwood’s team will happily provide catering from behind the scenes, many of Dish’s clients recruit her to create customized, interactive events, which might involve, say, meeting the chefs (who also serve) and helping prepare elements of the meal. Dish caters to both private and corporate clients—ranging from 40th birthday parties to company gatherings to retail openings.
