Since opening in 2000, it has fed its fair share of celebrities: during a recent visit, Colin Powell sampled nibbles (ahi tuna tartare topped with avocado cream) at the Carlu, while Michael Bublé savoured sea bass skewers marinated in sake miso at a fundraiser for Princess Margaret Hospital. 10tation also did the menu for the past two Chanel parties at TIFF. Owner David D’Aprile grew up in the restaurant biz and spent two years in Italy earning his culinary chops. And it shows: his presentation is creative and enticing. Tiny espresso cups hold rich chai crème brûlée; even mac-and-cheese gets the five-star treatment, served in crisp miniature parmigiano cups, each one topped with a black truffle. D’Aprile also employs a full team of event planners, wait staff and chefs to ensure that your event runs smoothly, whether it’s an intimate backyard wedding or a 700-guest extravaganza.
