Leah’s Home Baking

Although Leah Kalish doesn’t have a storefront, when a local shop once sold out of her almond chocolate biscotti, Mick Jagger, in town for a concert, tracked down her address and sent his driver over for more. Leah’s famous biscotti are available at such fine shops as Pusateri’s, Whole Foods and Summerhill Market. Kalish specializes in mini-pastries for sweet tables; praline, caramel and chocolate tartlets are popular, as are tiny raspberry mountains—three layers of white chocolate and fresh berries. Individually mounted on lollipop sticks, handmade truffles in dark chocolate–orange, hazelnut praline, and white chocolate ganache are decadent fun. Monogrammed shortbread hearts are perfect for weddings and engagement parties. She does tiered wedding cakes, too; favourite flavours are banana chocolate and mocha dacquoise.
