Shmooze

  • 15 Mercer St. (at John St.) View on map »

As you might have gathered by the name, there’s nothing subtle about Shmooze. Patrons are instructed—via the club’s Web site, no less—to “dress as if you’re expecting to meet someone, because chances are you will,” so don’t show up in athletic gear or a cutesy H&M top. And bring plenty of cash to flash around and impress whoever it is you’re schmoozing. Despite the embarrassing name, it’s a surprisingly classy place, courtesy of shiny hardwood floors and chandeliers.
  • Open Friday from 8 p.m. (cover $7) and Saturday from 10 p.m. (cover $10)
  • Outdoor dining
  • Kitchen open past midnight on weekends
