The dress code is black, preferably leather. Baby goths vamp it up to industrial music on the dance floor. On the lounge end of the club, a Morpheus wannabe is playing pool, his hands tucked behind his long, black coat in between every shot. All posing aside, it’s a fun place: friendly bouncers, reasonably priced drinks (domestic beer $4.75, imports $5.75–$7, coolers $7) and a crowd of laid-back regulars. Every Friday features live bands and DJs. At Dark Retro, on the third Friday of every month, new wave gloomsters—think Depeche Mode, The Cure, Bauhaus—dominate the playlist. Cover $3 after midnight.
