Republik

This mega-club provides a stylish backdrop for showing off your trendy clothes. Located near the corner of John and Richmond streets, it’s in the middle of clubland. And Republik looks downright cool inside. Designed by Bennett Lo (who worked his magic on Spring Rolls), the club presents a modern, futuristic decor, from the lasers on the dance floor to the glossy black bathrooms. If you’re feeling superior, reserve a table in the glass VIP room perched high above the rabble; here, you can chill out to R&B and take advantage of the bottle service. Downstairs, two big dance floors contain up to 1,200 revellers. The video for “Pon de Replay” (the breakout hit by Bajan beauty Rihanna) was filmed here, which should lend inspiration to up-and-coming dancing girls, who can strut their stuff on raised platforms. No sneakers or hats on Saturday, boys. Cover $10 on Friday, $15 on Saturday.
