Main mod Mark Holmes is an English expat best known as the front man of ’80s hair band Platinum Blonde, but thanks to this increasingly popular nightclub and a fine record selection, his career reinvention is nearly complete. On Thursday, 102.1 The Edge broadcasts from the bar; Mod Club Saturdays offer more Brit pop than the mix over at Revival, plus newer U.K. jams. The anglophile angle can be a bit over the top—giant pop art portraits of Brit icons are plastered on the walls—but there is a certain classiness, and an amazing sound system that’s attracted some terrific live shows: Dizzee Rascal, the Tragically Hip and The Killers have all played here, as well as label showcases. Cover $10–$15; concert prices vary.
