The city’s glitterati come here to play. Patience is a virtue while waiting in the jam-packed bouncer-patrolled back alley. (Get on the guest list if you don’t want to spend all night standing at these hallowed gates.) But for upscale clubbing, it’s worth the lineup. The decor in the foyer resembles a country club (fireplace, antlers and leather armchairs); the main area is a baroque extravaganza of flocked-velvet walls, bronze statuary and crystal chandeliers. The fabled ladies’ room recalls a French boudoir. The cover (Friday $15–$20, Saturday $20), strict dress code and pricey cocktails scare off the students.
