A massive multi-roomed entertainment complex, The Guvernment is a dance mecca. Though the club is known for its famous visiting DJs (including the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Deep Dish and Moby), the patrons here care more about good times than trendy clothes or imported beer ($4.75 domestic bottles will do fine), though a few bottled imports are available ($5.75). In fact, on Saturdays, the sneaker-wearing 20-somethings wave glow sticks without irony. Despite the club’s enormity (22,000 square feet), claustrophobics should come early—the crowd swells to capacity on most nights. Lines can be long, so call ahead to get on the guest list. And choose your queue carefully: there are entrances to separate clubs on all sides of the building. Cover varies.
