Every weekend, gay dance addicts crowd this expansive, dim, prison-like space. The gallery doubles as a platform for exhibitionists: by 1:30 a.m., every kid in the place is doing a variation of a stripper’s dance, dangling seductively from the railings. Styles veer between fashionable and flesh baring. Once you get past the steep cover ($10–$20, more for special events), the beer is cheap ($4.50). After last call, this becomes an after-hours club—Red Bull ($6), bottled water ($4) and Gatorade ($4.75) keep you going well into the wee hours. On Saturday, the all-night dance party features celebrity DJs from home and abroad. On the first Friday of every month, a lively crowd gathers for Besharam, a South Asian celebration with Bollywood music; on the second Friday is Grapefruit, a tribute to ’80s and ’90s pop tunes; the last Friday is devoted to Dance Camp—dance music with (gasp!) vocals. Open Friday 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., depending on the event; Saturday 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
