Devil’s Martini

The name says warm and sinful. But, in reality, the most devilish thing about this cavernous club is the monstrous lineup (in a crowded back alley, no less; call ahead to get on the guest list). Still, Devil’s Martini pushes all the right buttons for mainstream revellers. And if you’re looking for a meat market, it doesn’t get any better than this. Hordes of 25-plus revellers include bachelorette parties dancing to hits from their university days, and suited Bay Streeters unwinding with martinis in hand. The huge main area is decorated with white pillars, leather banquettes and mirrors. Patrons can perch at pedestal tables and order traditional pub grub. Downstairs, the red-walled decor better reflects the club’s name. But wherever you may venture, be on your best behaviour: bouncers are high-strung. Cover $5 on Saturday after 10 p.m.
