The Yellow Griffin Pub

Though it looks like a standard faux English pub, the Griffin is actually a high-end burger joint. In fact, the burgers here are so good you may never order chicken wings and nachos again. The menu features 35 variations, with such names as St. Peter’s Burger, Under the Tuscan Bun and Kung-Fu. Patties come in a variety of forms: beef, lamb, turkey, veggie, pork escalope, bison, salmon and chicken breast with a hickory rub. Unfortunately, the decor is not as creative. There are the usual pub trappings (stained wood trim, beer ad mirrors, cushioned booths), but there’s something impersonal about the place: it’s a local that doesn’t feel local. Still, there’s a party room upstairs with a pool table, two plasma TVs and a projection screen. An array of standard and imported beers is served.
