The reigning champ of gay bars, Woody’s attracts everyone from young queers to battle-hardened veterans of the LGBT club scene. Depending on your mood and level of anxiety, it’s either welcoming or impossibly stand-and-model. Saucy events include the Thursday-night best-chest contest, a best-ass competition on Fridays and Saturdays, and three drag shows on Sundays. On weekends, the dinner-and-a-movie crowd pops in for a nightcap, and younger groups stop by for bevies before heading out to dance.
