This brick building dates from 1849, and still has the pleasing feel of an old-time watering hole. The bar was a men-only enclave until 1969, and the testosterone level remains high: guys congregate around the heavy wooden tables to quaff brew, watch sports and talk chicks. Sports blare from the 13 TVs; beer pennants hang from the ceiling; an old subway map doubles as decoration. Outside, a patio keeps watch over the Bathurst streetcar line.
