Conversation fills this pair of converted Victorian townhouses (just around the corner from Honest Ed’s bargain palace), usually overpowering the music (live jazz on Wednesdays). A collegiate crowd arrives in ball caps and sweatshirts, shaggy hair and even shaggier sweaters. The tree-shaded patio is a giant party in summer, a perfect spot for nursing one of the 12 Ontario microbrews on tap, though servers have trouble keeping up with the swarm. The food is unremarkable pub grub, but portions are huge and prices low.
