Bars & ClubsBars

The Underground Garage Urban Saloon

This subterranean den might as well be a college dorm room: Polaroids of drunken patrons plaster the bar’s backsplash, empty two-fours and kegs are proudly stacked along the walls, and the sounds of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Soundgarden reverberate off the walls. The pièce de résistance: a bra and thong dangling from the ceiling. Don’t bother ordering anything but beer and simple mixed drinks; fancy cocktails are not the point. Jägermeister is the house shot; a huge flag emblazoned with the label suggests the staff is particularly partial to that licorice taste. A second-floor space (open Fridays and Saturdays) was recently added; it’s home to live music and a stripper pole. Cover $5 Friday and Saturday (includes coat check).
