Naturally, given the name, you’re probably thinking of the great sax king of jazz. And you’re partly right. The Trane Studio is a cool neighbourhood “arts and jazz restaurant bar,” located on a quirky block of Bathurst between Bloor and Dupont. Jazz is on the menu, but on any given night so, too, might be a community radio station fundraiser, duelling poets or Afro-Cuban drumming. Brick walls, high ceilings and hardwood floors make for a cozy space; staff is laid-back and convivial. Cover up to $25.
