This nouveau, sleek haunt is the first of its kind in the pub-friendly Broadview-Leslieville area. A row of candlelit tables for two down one side prove a romantic hideaway for date-night types, while more social scenesters populate the couch area up front. Music—a key component of its lounge atmosphere—comes courtesy of various local DJs spinning a mix of groovy house and electronica, although on the last Friday of every month a rowdy retro night unleashes the inner Pat Benatar in even the loungiest of lizards. Cocktails are suitably chic: the Riverside cocktail is a mix of Stoli vodka, sour raspberry liqueur, amaretto, cranberry juice and a splash of fresh citrus juice blend ($9.50).
