Skylounge

Populated by impossibly bronzed French tourists, hotel guests in shorts and flip-flops, stilettoed sylphs and clusters of office workers, the InterContinental’s elegant outdoor cocktail and tapas lounge—tucked away behind the hotel’s Bloor Street bar, Proof—offers respite to weary souls and fun seekers alike, weather permitting. Made up of wide canvas umbrellas, wooden tables, and low-slung couches and chairs, the patio’s simple, sleek design is complemented by a carefully considered menu (the Cheese Tease offers servings sized for four, six or eight people) and expansive drinks list (which features a range of Sky-caipirinhas, Sky-mojitos, Sky-mixes, Sky-martinis and Sky-bellinis, among other more customary selections). As one after-work imbiber put it while she sipped her glass of rosé, “This was a very good bad idea.”
