The Rhino Bar & Grill

An Annex-style bar in the middle of Parkdale, the long-standing Rhino serves a late-20s crowd that’s hanging on to undergrad style (think beards and forage caps) but also has a taste for the finer things in hops and malt. The beer menu lists over 200 bottled beers from more than 40 countries—Trinidad, Croatia, Ukraine and Vietnam among them—all neatly categorized (ale, lager, cream ale and more, $3.75–$14.95). From the taps pour some splendid examples of the local craft—Mill Street, Rhino Lager, Wellington, Creemore—plus a few well-placed foreigners, such as Guinness or a Belgian beauty. The menu features the usual pub grub, all affordably priced. The atmosphere is low-key convivial, with pool tables and additional seating in the back and a bustling patio to the side.
